What are some of the challenges faced by organizations during digital transformation projects?
The lack of adequate technology that is intuitive, seamless, and engaging often leads to people wasting a lot of time preparing for enterprise meetings. Companies around the world struggle with digital transformation initiatives and prefer analog whiteboards and paper notes as technology is too complex to use. We began our journey as a research work at the University of Applied Sciences in Austria and based on our studies and findings, built an innovative software product. Our mission is to make a comprehensive set of personalized digital workspaces that can be used across locations on any device to work smarter. We aim to provide a faster, easier, and intuitive method of getting business done by accelerating and protecting clients’ knowledge base in a secure way.

At Hoylu, we understand the perils of working with large amounts of data that organizations accumulate across multiple silos. We gather all the inputs and organize and save all the information in the workspace allowing every team member to gain access to it using a simple login from any device. As opposed to most applications, a user can zoom in and out in two dimensions instead of only one using our platform. This ability to work both horizontally and vertically with information allows us to empower clients with an architecture that allows better visual communication and faster navigation.
Could you further elaborate on the Connected Workspaces platform?
Connected Workspaces renders an itinerary of activity coordination and creates a digital time schedule to replace the analog whiteboard, the printout cards, and sticky notes. In addition, the workspace can be utilized to collect information such as design reviews, sketching, sharing ideas, brainstorming, and more. The Connected Workspaces is a large vault of organized information to collaboratively plan, create, and share information that enriches the user experience in the virtual office. Team members log in to our solution from a device via a browser and gain access to the data required to complete a job. Information is automatically saved, and all the content is there the next time you log in.
Our software runs in parallel with any audio and video conferencing solution and is easy and fun to use. It enables people to search through silos and move information across folders. Users can share their workspaces, so they no longer need to take pictures of whiteboards and transcribe them into excel or word.
Our solution also allows Individuals to gain access to contextual information from previous meetings.
Are there any exciting customer success stories that you would like to share with us?
An exciting industry with a plethora of ecosystems that we work in is construction. There are people with different backgrounds and skill sets performing various activities under tight time schedules in this sector. It is hard to bring all these individuals on the same page and organize and sequentially coordinate all of the actions.
In one case, we had a client that was looking to have a better interaction between its office and field members. With many staff members spread across various locations, the customer needed seamless communication. We provided them our solution called HoyluWall, a touch and stylus-based interactive surface that is expandable to six, twelve, eighteen, and twenty-four feet projector walls that people utilize for product management meetings. Individuals were also given rights to log into Connected Workspaces on the wall directly, and field members accessing the feed from their devices were granted the permission to view that information parallelly along with their colleagues present at the office complex.
Besides construction, we also have many clients spread across automotive, travel, and entertainment industries.
What is the roadmap for Hoylu for the next 12 to 18 months?
As organizations continue to implement digital transformation, at Hoylu, we see a tremendous opportunity for designing and developing tools to make people more engaged and productive during work. I think, in general, companies have struggled with digital transformation, not because of technology (there is more than enough technology around) but the user experience. For solutions to be accepted by individuals, they need to provide the freedom to use different hardware, be simple, intuitive, and hassle-free.
For the imminent future of workspace management systems, the keyword is simplicity; it is composition versus silos, and it is continuity versus disruption to provide engaging experience to users.
